Winter:
1. Snowman

What you need:
A5 size Cardboard in different shades of cool colours (Blue, green and purple)
A5 pieces of white paper
Paper glue
Black maker
Orange koki
Cotton wool (optional)
A punch
Method:
1. Punch a few holes in the coloured cardboard to resemble the falling snow.
2. Cut a piece of white paper for the ground and paste it on the cardboard.
3. Cut 3 circles from the white paper. (One must be slightly bigger that the other 2.)
4. Paste the circles, starting with the larger one at the bottom, so that they overlap slightly.
5. With the black marker, draw on a hat, eyes, a nose, a mouth, buttons and arms. Colour the nose with the orange koki.
6. Paste the cotton wool on the white paper, resembling the ground.
Great idea:
Use this figure to make greeting cards.
2. Winter Clothing Doll
What you need:
A4 White paper/Magazines
Pencils
Scissors
Colouring pencils/crayons
Paper Glue
Ribbon
Stickers/Buttons/Googly eyes etc. for decoration
Method:
1. Draw a basic body shape on your white cardboard.
2. Cut along the edges.

5. Cut out the clothing item traced in step 4.
6. Paste it on your figure.

3. Rainbow Umbrella

What you need:
A3 Blue cardboard
Black Marker
Magazines
Glue
What to do:
1. On the blue cardboard, draw an umbrella.
2. Tear and sort different colours from a magazine.
3. Paste the wedges of the umbrella according to the colours of the rainbow.
4. Paste the handle with brown or black pieces.
Great idea:
Instead of tear and pasting, try using scrunched-up crepe paper.
Splatter paint the background using a toothbrush to give it a "rainy day" effect.

Hey! This looks so fun! I won't be teaching grade R but I am really excited to try this with my nieces and nephews. If you are looking for cool craft ideas for younger children I found these book mark monsters to be very cute.
